A TEAM LUNCH SHOPPING LIST
This is a list of items which should be included in a team lunch. Most things need to be bought each day. Quantity depends on how many people are eating. As the season goes along it will become clear that the players like some things better than others and that should be a guide as to what to buy. Focus on healthy food, which can be prepared easily and eaten at the field or park. Budget $100.00 - $125.00 for a lunch, but don’t feel that you have to spend that much every time you shop.
You need to start:
Ice, a couple of picnic coolers to hold the food, a cardboard box for bringing plates, cups, etc. and a knife for cutting.
You need to buy:
(Some, but not all of these every day)
(Assume that 20-25 people will eat lunch – players, coaches and parents)
3 loaves of bread, normally two white and one wheat
1 jar each peanut butter and jam or jelly. Small jars – no leftovers
2 pounds of lunch meat – turkey best, ham and roast beef are okay (2X for 2 days)
1 pound sliced cheese – white or light is the best
(2X for 2 days)
1 jar each mustard and mayonnaise. Small jars – no leftovers

As an option, get the individual packages from the store – less to hold
Lettuce and tomato

If the players seem to like it.
Celery and carrots (best)
Pre-cut in bags
1 small jar of ranch dressing
-
use as a dip for celery and carrots
2 bags of corn chips/potato chips/etc. + 1 small jar of salsa

Fruit – grapes/apples/bananas/oranges - whatever looks good

3 bags of ice --- to use with drinks and to keep things cold
Napkins, cups, plates, plastic utensils
